Live historical wedding reanactment performance

This year’s fundraiser for the Orcas Island Historical Museums is “Vintage Vows,” an afternoon live-wedding reenactment with a nod to a 1916 island wedding. The afternoon will feature the wedding of Deer Harbor residents Bill McLachlan and Edith Lehmann, and “reception” catered by Juliana Capdeville, with hosted beer and wine.

“Vintage Vows” will be held at the Orcas Center on Saturday, May 11, 3-6 pm. Tickets are $60 or $50 for museum members. Purchase online at www.orcasmuseums.org or call the museum office at 360-376-4849. Early-bird ticket sales save you $10 if purchased before May 1.

There will be something for everyone. Raffle tickets for chances to win various gift baskets, a silent auction with unique items and gift certificates from island restaurants and shops will start off the afternoon. After the wedding ceremony, performed by officiant Dan Wilk, attendees will have a chance to bid on the best of the best “wedding gifts.” There will be everything from private dinners to loads of gravel and an African safari.
