Litch, Friel win short film award

Fifteen-year-old Tashi Litch and Bob Friel won the best short film award at the Orcas Island Film Festival for “It Takes An Island.” The short will be shown at the Seattle International Film Festival.

The Orcas festival awards $5,000 to three filmmakers to explore the San Juan Archipelago and use it as a canvas to create short films. In addition to Litch and Friel, this year’s grant winners were: “Falling Into Place” by Einar Johnson and “RIGGED! A Tail of Corruption” by Heidi Cuda. Voting is done online.
