Kruger races toward Alaska again

For the second year in a row, Orcas Islander Karl Kruger is attempting to race his paddleboard in the 750-mile motorless boat rase, Race 2 Alaska. During the first leg of the race – Port Townsend to Victoria – Kruger (team Heart of Gold) proved he’s ready to win this year, paddling into the city in seventh place. The second leg of the race – Victoria to Ketchikan, Alaska – began on Sunday, June 11. The participants are racing to bring home the grand prize of $10,000.
