John Raymond Berry exhibition

Spring, A neoclassical painting in the style of Leonardo da Vinci, is the centerpiece of an exhibition of the work of John Raymond Berry, featured at Washington Federal in March 2019. Spring is an image of the young Swedish activist Greta Thunberg. Also included will be the large panoramic and open sky images that the artist is noted for, including some landscapes and marine scapes of Westsound.

SOUL, the art space that Berry founded in Eastsound, Orcas Island, has already featured over 30 Island artists, and many collaborations: Including the noted Earth arts sculptural design builder and ecological repurposer, Zackarya Leck, and a current cinema vérité project of educational impact, knowledge and contemporary art with Mars Cassidy. Mars is a graduate of Pratt, and a former colleague of the Smithsonian Institute, documenting her work with the beings of Coffelt Farm. Using a gopro to not interfere with the work of the cycle from life to the abbatoir, and on again. Giving an intimate view into the world of a farms beings.

Berry is also developing some public art projects with local educators and mentors and in the State of Washington. Six images of his FOLKTALE, are currently on view at the Orcas public library, and he has been presenting this work most recently in the Viaduct Show In Seattle at Phantom Realms gallery located in the OK hotel, a fixture in the arts in Seattle for many decades, the show also continues through the month of March.
