“Lights for Liberty: A Vigil to End Human Detention Camps” will bring thousands of people to locations worldwide as well as to concentration camps across the country–into the streets and into their own front yards–on Friday, July 12, to protest the inhumane conditions faced by migrants.
A vigil will take place on Orcas at the Village Green in Eastsound. Beginning at 7:30 p.m. there will be live music by Mandy Troxel and activists. Organizers and members of impacted communities will speak prior to the 9 p.m. candlelight vigil.
In addition, there will be a table to sign petitions and where donations can be made to help support the work being done to end these injustices.
