Island Sinfonia will present its annual spring concert at Orcas Center at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 28. Tickets are $10 and are available through the box office.

This year’s program will feature flautists Linda Slone and Sarah Ogmundson in Quadro by Telemann, and cellist Jen Utter in Mozart’s Ronda alla Turca. Other pieces include the “March for the Turkish Ceremony” by Lully; the second movement of “Rosamunde” by Schubert; Five Instrumental Movements by J.S. Bach, though only three will be played; Libertango for Wind Quintet by Piazolla; and a piece for our brass ensemble.

Island Sinfonia is comprised of instrumentalists from Lopez, Orcas, Shaw and San Juan and is directed by conductor Jim Shaffer-Bauck. Island Sinfonia is open to all musicians, including students. Talk to any of the instrumentalists following the concert if you are interested in joining.
