Great composers get a makeover

Submitted by Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival.

On Tuesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. (Pacific Time), join Gracie Award winning on-air radio announcer, pianist, and humorist Lisa Bergman as she brings her lively “Great Composers Get a Makeover” to Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival’s online audience.

The evening’s spirited exploration spotlights the innermost secrets of more than five centuries of classical music with anecdotes about composers, instruments, sounds, and techniques, peppered with hilarity and occasional bloopers. Bergman will entertain from the keyboard and promises laughter, goose bumps, and even an occasional tear.

Festival attendees will remember Bergman from her appearances as an artist and speaker at many summer Festival events and Leaves of Gold and Spring Thank You concerts.

A concert pianist specializing in collaborative piano and chamber music, Bergman is a graduate of The Juilliard School, State University of New York at Stony Brook, and the University of Washington, cum laude. She has served on the University of Washington School of Music faculty and has toured the Pacific Rim as an American Artistic Ambassador. She is founder of the Mostly Nordic Chamber Music Series in Seattle, Executive Director of Northwest Opera in Schools, Etcetera (NOISE), and is the Adult Piano Retreat Director at the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, where she served as Executive Director for seven years. Bergman currently sits on the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival Board of Directors. OICMF thanks Catherine Pederson for Artist Sponsorship of Lisa Bergman.
