Runners and walkers are invited to come out for the 8th Annual Funhouse Fourth of July 5K on Thursday, July 4. The race starts promptly at 9 a.m. At 10 a.m., kids can run a 1K race for a $10 entry fee.

The loop route includes the Crescent Beach Trail and starts and finishes at the Village Green. Check it out at https://www.plotaroute.com/route/181399.

If you have a group of friends or coworkers, sign up as a team. The biggest team registered by the Sunday before the race will get a shoutout on Facebook. Zany patriotic wear is encouraged. Go all out and try to win “best costume,” individually or as a team.

All are welcome to run or walk the route at their own pace. Proceeds benefit The Funhouse Commons and its programs for island kids.
