Emmanuel Episcopal Parish Annual Market Day Sale celebrates 79 years

The Market Day Sale will be open Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the church grounds, located at 242 Main St., Eastsound. The ladies of St. Agnes Guild are already happily collecting, sorting, and pricing donations for the sale day.

In the parish hall you will find delicious baked items to take home and a silver tea serving savory and sweet treats. Also, a chance to sit and relax and to peruse the beautiful jewelry and artwork displayed there.

Outside on the grounds will be table after table offering donated books, children’s toys, housewares, linens, garden tools and much, much more.

St. Agnes Guild was initially formed in the 1930s to raise funds to refurbish the church building and to send money to organizations such as the Red Cross during the war.

The very first Market Day Sale was held in 1940 and continues today in order to provide needed funds for our Orcas nonprofits that benefit both island adults and children. In 2018 $6,250 was donated to island nonprofits. The sale in 2018 also supported the replacement of the west side white picket fence at Emmanuel, with help from parishioner volunteers.

A hot dog stand offering a quick lunch will be operating all day as well. Mustard anyone?
