Economic Forecast luncheon to cover ‘Cross-Borders, Cross-Industries’

Join the conversation on “San Juan County – Cross-Borders, Cross-Industries” at the 10th Annual Economic Development Council Economic Forecast Luncheon held at Brickworks in Friday Harbor on Wednesday, May 8, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. A catered lunch by San Juan Bistro will be served. This year’s topic will examine international trade, innovation and security as they relate to the San Juan County economy.

The speakers will include: Laurie Trautman, who holds a Ph.D. in geography and a master’s in earth sciences, is a noted border policy expert and director of the Border Research Institute at Western Washington University; Brian Young, director of economic development for the clean technology sector at the Washington State Department of Commerce; and Julia Terlinchamp, director of economic development for the life science/global health sector at the Department of Commerce.
