Dine, drink and dance at Orcas Montessori’s Brazilian CARNIVALE

Join Orcas Montessori for an evening of fun and festivities at CARNIVALE, a Brazilian-themed fundraising party honoring the 31st year of Orcas Montessori School. They’ll celebrate this international festival of spring with live Latin music by Orcas guitarist Gene Nery, tasty bites prepared by celebrated local chef Jon Chappelle, and a wine, beer, and signature cocktail bar on Saturday, May 4 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall.

Sip a Caipirinha – Brazil’s national cocktail – while shimmying to live bossa nova. Nibble on ceviche, chimichurri grilled steak, and arroz verde while enjoying spectacular views of the water from The Odd Fellows deck. Strike a pose with friends in flamboyant costumes by Tiffany Loney in the photo booth. Master of ceremonies Jami Mitchell and auctioneer Mark Padbury will guide the evening of live and silent auctions, special entertainment, free games, a costume contest, and more. Bring your dancing shoes and dress in your most outrageous sequins, feathers, and bright tropical colors for a festive party! At the end of the evening, the guest with the best CARNIVALE costume will win a prize (costumes are encouraged, but not required).

This year’s live and silent auction items include exciting travel and entertainment packages, services and supplies for your home and garden, and delicious gourmet food and dining, all donated by local businesses and parents. Orcas Montessori has extended its 20 percent off special offer for advance ticket sales until Friday, April 19. Tickets — which include food and two drinks at the bar — are $50 at the door, $40 if purchased in advance at www.orcasmontessori.org/carnivale or by calling (360) 376-5350. Free childcare will be available at the school during the event; call to reserve as soon as possible as spaces are limited.
