Community Art Show Opening: Faces of Orcas

The Visual Arts Committee of Orcas Center is excited to welcome the community to the Faces of Orcas Art Opening on Friday, June 9 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Madrona Room.

Nearly 60 artists contributed over 130 pieces to this community art show consisting of paintings, drawings, photography, woodworking, mixed-media sculpture and more! We are excited to show works from established island artists such as Terry Johnson, Brook Meinhardt, and Edee Kulper, and artists who haven’t exhibited at Orcas Center before (or are coming back after a long hiatus) like Olive Mackenzie, Lonnie Milsap Jr, and Jilayne Sahlsteen. These are just a few of the amazing artists you’ll see displayed at Orcas Center!

Orcas Center’s community art shows offer a rare opportunity for artists of all genres and skill levels to come together under one roof to showcase and celebrate local talent. Musical entertainment will be provided by Orcas based Panamanian artist and producer Lilo Sanchez, whose solo work combines that mysterious Latin flavor with haunting melodies, bluesy rock, and R&B sounds.

The Faces of Orcas show will be on display at Orcas Center until July 18.
