Coffelt Farm Stewards hire new executive director

Kate Mikulak (pictured here) has joined the Coffelt Farm Stewards as executive director. Mikulak has been working with locally produced food on Orcas Island for the last six years. She says she is excited to bring her love of livestock and vision for sustainable food production to the organization.

The Coffelt Farm Stewards operates a 185-acre working farm in Crow Valley producing island-grown fruit and vegetables, grass-fed raw milk, pastured eggs and pork, grass-fed lamb and beef, sheepskins and wool products. The mission of Coffelt Farm Stewards is to demonstrate sustainable, small-scale agricultural practices, promote environmental stewardship, and provide opportunities for education and research, while honoring Orcas Island’s rural heritage.
