Cellist Skip vonKuske to perform

An intimate musical evening concert on the lawn at 328 Pioneer Hill Road in Olga, with cellist Skip vonKuske on Friday, July 14, from 6:45–8 p.m.

Relax in the gardens of Orcas Island for a intimate evening with the exquisitely talented vonKuske. Bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets and warm clothes.

Portland Cello Project co-founder, and long time member of Vagabond Opera, vonKuske is also a multi-instrumentalist, composer, improviser and soloist.

Whether accompanying dancers from the Oregon Ballet Theater, the Pacific Northwest Dance Company, Contact Jams, Flamenco, or world-class Belly Dance, his music is inspired by the moment.

A master of looping, vonKuske uses phrase sampling to build canvases of sound. Each performance is like a sand mandala, songs are built up, and washed away to make room for new ideas.
