Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy at Emmanuel Parish Hall

Sharon Abreu and Michael Hurwicz will host an annual celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Emmanuel Parish Hall, 242 Main Street in Eastsound on Sunday, Jan. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Abreu and Hurwicz will sing and lead songs. Everyone is invited to bring a song, poem, thought, short story, or short reading from one of Dr. King’s speeches to share.

Admission is free. Donations will benefit the Network of Spiritual Progressives, the Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy, and the Emmanuel Parish Community Dinner Kitchen

Refreshments will be provided – more are welcome!

In addition, at 11:30 am on Sunday, Jan. 14, Abreu and Hurwicz will do a short presentation with music on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for the Orcas Island Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Benson Hall. (Benson Hall is in the Emmanuel Church building to the right of the sanctuary.)
