BODaLO offers the sweet sound of cello, clarinet and piano

Performing at the Brown Bag Concert at noon in Emmanuel Episcopal Parish on Wednesday, Aug. 2 will be three island residents who make music together as the BODaLO Trio.

The group includes Bob Littlewood on clarinet. He also plays in the Orcas Community Band, the Island Sinfonia, Orcatrazz Swing Band, and various chamber groups. He has come, late in life, to very much appreciate a skill he did not work hard enough at as a youth. The second member of the group, Dale Heisinger, cello, is a retired pediatrician from Bellingham. He has played the cello off and on since age 9. He now plays with the Island Sinfonia and various chamber ensembles. He is delighted to find talented musicians who have allowed him to return to his musical roots. The third member, Louellen McCoy, plays piano and has lived on Orcas for 54 years. She has played for a variety of events including 25 years with the Orcas Choral Society as accompanist.

Their program includes Trio 1973 – second movement by composer Nino Rota and Trio Pathetique 1832 by composer Mikhail Glinka.

There is no charge for the concert but donations are appreciated to help fund the Virgil Cleveland Memorial Scholarship program for talented Orcas music students.
