12th annual college counseling workshops

The Funhouse Commons and Orcas Island Public School are offering the 12th annual college counseling events.

“College Admissions 101” will be presented on Monday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Orcas Island Public School Library. Susanna Cerasuolo, M.Ed, has been a college counselor for more than 20 years. She will talk about high school curricular choices, current trends in college admissions, standardized test performance, college choices, the college application process, and specifics every potential college student and their families should know.

“Sending Your Child to College” is on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Orcas Island Public School Library. The Funhouse is bringing David Aramaki back to the island once again to discuss the financial aspect of sending your child to college. He’ll share strategies and options for college financing, tax issues, how to fill out the FAFSA, and more. If you have a child planning to attend college at any point, this is a presentation you won’t want to miss!

Both Cerasuolo and Aramaki will also be offering one-on-one advisory sessions at various times Monday, Oct. 1- Wednesday, Oct. 3. Parents are encouraged to contact Liz to schedule one of these sessions by emailing liz@thefunhouse.org or calling (360) 376-7177.

There is no charge for these sessions, but the Funhouse welcomes donations to help cover the cost of bringing these professional advisors to the community.
