We want to thank the Orcas Lions Club for being invited to their Christmas dinner and the honor of receiving their first Community Service Award as reported in the Dec. 19 Sounder.

We are pleased to be part of a great community with the many areas of opportunity to serve our islanders. Rita is mainly with the fire department and Velma is with the Orcas Kiwanis Club. We would not have been eligible for this award as a Lion member and appreciate what that club does for our island and for receiving this community service award. Thank you, Lions.
