Orcas Center hosts the return of Marley’s Ghost, who performed a wildly received show in 2008.

Marley’s Ghost is a spirited group of musicians who have performed together for more than two decades. Their diverse repertoire includes great vocal harmonies and a mix of gospel, country, R&B, Cajun and Scottish tunes. The band members are Dan Wheetman (vocals, bass, rhythm guitar, fiddle, harmonica, banjo, dobro, lap steel); Jon Wilcox (vocals, mandolin, rhythm guitar, guitar, bouzouki); Mike Phelan (vocals, lead guitars, fiddle, dobro, bass, lap steel); Ed Littlefield Jr., (vocals, pedal steel guitar, Highland bagpipes, keyboards, mandolin, dobro, lead guitar); and Jerry Fletcher (vocals, drums, percussion, keyboards, arrangements),

Since their October 2008 appearance at Orcas Center, which was received with unrestrained enthusiasm, Marley’s Ghost has released a new album, “Ghost Town” on Sage Arts Records. The new album was produced by Cowboy Jack Clement, in whose Nashville studio it was recorded. Clement, the country music cornerstone whose career entwined with those of Jerry Lee Lewis, George Jones, Charley Pride, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and so many others, is the beloved dean of Nashville producers, and the presence of Marley’s Ghost in his studio earned the band its first Music Row buzz.

Orcas Center acknowledges the support of Karen and Ken Speck for their underwriting support of this presentation of Marley’s Ghost.

Tickets for Saturday, Aug. 7 performance with Marley’s Ghost are $25, $17 for Orcas Center members and $11 for students. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.orcascenter.org or call or 376-2281 ext. 1 or visit Orcas Center during box office hours, Thursday-Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.
