Auditions for new Actors Theater production
November 13, 2009 · 3:09 PM
The Actors Theater of Orcas Island announces open auditions for its winter play “Noises Off” by Michael Frayn.
Auditions will be held at the Orcas Grange at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Rehearsals will begin in early December with performances at the end of February and early March.
The Actors Theater says “Noises Off” is considered by many to be the best farce written in the past 100 years. The New York Times called it “The most dexterously realized comedy ever about putting on a comedy. A spectacularly funny, peerless backstage farce. This dizzy, well-known romp is festival of delirium.”
The New York Post wrote, “The funniest farce ever written!”
The play will require split second timing, a great sense of humor and the willingness to work very hard. There are roles for four women and five men in a wide range of ages. The audition will involve group work and readings from the script.
A copy of the script is available at the counter at the Orcas Library. For additional information or if you are unable to make the audition but want to be considered, contact Doug Bechtel at 317-5601.
