Troxel in concert

August 26, 2013 · Updated 5:28 PM

The final Brown Bag concert at noon on Aug. 28 at Emmanuel Episcopal Parish will feature Orcas Islander Mandy Troxel.

After a decade of writer’s block, and having given up performing for what she believed was forever, Troxel surprised herself. Having fallen into what could be described as one of those “dark nights of the soul,” songs started coming. A trusted friend and musician implored her to share them: “These songs are sustenance. You can’t keep them from people. People need to eat.”

Bring a Brown Bag lunch to enjoy with friends after feeding your soul on the new songs presented by Troxel. Donations are appreciated to help fund the Virgil Cleveland Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship provides the opportunity for a promising music student from Orcas to attend a music camp in Bellingham.
