Orcas artist donating proceeds to Haitian children
January 26, 2010 · 2:51 PM
Local artist Gail Anderson-Toombs has just finished a new series of small, whimsical heart paintings that can be seen at Jillery on Main St. in Eastsound. Her hand-made cards are also available at the store.
She is donating all of her profits from sales in February to help the children of Haiti through the organization Save the Children.
Anderson-Toombs says her new paintings are “fun and colorful (not just red and white) hearts with beads, buttons and feathers decorating them. These hearts would be great gifts, not only for Valentines' Day, but for an anniversary, wedding, birthday, or just because. They will make a unique and one-of-a-kind gift to someone special, and at the same time will be helping little hearts of Haiti.”
