PTSA sponsors spelling bee
November 2, 2009 · 10:51 AM
Orcas School PTSA will sponsor children in grades fourth through eighth in the National Scripps Spelling Bee.
With the help of adult volunteers, the PTSA will hold five after-school study group sessions with practice spelling bees and spelling tips.
The study sessions began Nov. 2. Other sessions will be held from 3:15-4:30 in the school library on Nov. 16, Nov. 30, Dec. 14 and Jan. 11, prior to class bees on Jan. 15, and the all-school Championship Bee on Jan. 29.
Volunteers for the study sessions and bees are needed. Contact Barbara Skotte at bskotte@yahoo.com or Tim Hance at tim@allislandsinspections.com to volunteer.
