Preserve exchange to celebrate island's bounty
November 2, 2009 · 10:23 AM
Orcas Islanders Rebecca Siegwart and Ian Woolworth are holding a Preserve Exchange on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Odd Fellows Hall.
All are invited to bring pickles, preserves, dried foods, and other home-made non-perishables to trade and sample. If you didn't preserve this year, feel free to come and learn more about preserving and purchase some of the goods.
Siegwart and Woolworth had the idea after Barter Fair this year. They thought it would be a "fantastic way to gather together to celebrate our island's bountiful harvest, mindfulness, and culinary talents."
