Learn about French music, dance, and drama
January 5, 2009 · Updated 5:05 PM
Dennis Bonner, DMA, is leading an exploration of French music, dance, and drama, beginning with King Louis XIV (who was proficient in all three), during the class “The French Connection!” at the Orcas Senior Center.
Louis’s leadership and passion in organizing and building institutions of the arts extended from his lifetime through the next three centuries. The importance and the organization of the arts became a primary duty of French government with Paris at its epicenter. This influence has woven its way through history, and even affects generations of composers and artists today.
The class will run from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays from Jan. 15 through March 19. Register through Skagit Valley College by calling 378-3220.
