September 22, 2008 · Updated 7:59 PM
Public hearings for the Orcas Village Plan, the OPAL Mt. Baker property Community Development Block Grant, and a water franchise to build a pipeline for private waterfront development are several of the reasons the County Council is again coming to Orcas Island on Monday, Sept. 29.
The meeting begins at 10 a.m. with citizens access time slotted for after the flag salute.
At 10:40 a.m. a public hearing on a waterline franchise agreement will begin with a presentation by Jon Shannon, Director of Public Works.
After a lunch recess, a public hearing will be held in review of the OPAL Mt. Baker Affordable Housing project, after a summary by County Senior Planner Colin Maycock at 1:30 p.m.
A continued public hearing regarding the ordinance adopting the Orcas Village Plan will follow, with Maycock giving the presentation.
