‘Hotbed Hotel’ auditions at Grange

The Actors Theater of Orcas Island is holding auditions for the upcoming play “Hotbed Hotel” by Michael Parker.

“Hotbed Hotel” is a comic farce with a cast of five women and four men in a wide range of ages. Rehearsals will begin in early December with seven performances between Feb. 15 and March 3.

Auditions will be held at the Grange on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. A copy of the script is available at the counter at the Orcas Library.  For more information, contact Doug Bechtel, the director at 317-5601.

Roles being cast include Hopkins, hotel handyman, a natural comic, usually tipsy, occasionally drunk; Terri, wife of the hotel manager, smart, competent yet tender and patient; Brian, hotel manager, kind, helpful and naive; Ponsenby, British military officer, eccentric with a sparkling dry wit; Maureen, hotel maid, young, full of energy, not a brain in her head;  Sam Lewis, guest at the hotel, loud and brash;  Ashley; Sam's girlfriend, gorgeous and kind; Hayley, called the barracuda; Dorothy, Sam’s severe and matronly wife.
