Orcas Christian School given high rating

May 1, 2012 · 9:04 AM

Orcas Christian School received a positive outcome during its “School Evaluation/Self Study” last month.

A visiting committee of nine private school administrators and teachers from all over the United States  spent three days evaluating Orcas Christian School in the areas of academics and curriculum; finances; facilities; personnel; student activities; technology, and more.

With an overwhelmingly positive response by the visiting committee, OCS was given a recommendation for the highest possible rating from the North American Division Commission on Accreditation.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of the recent Evaluation of Orcas Christian School,” said Principal Tom Roosma. “It is great to be affirmed in our goal of giving a top quality education in a safe and positive environment to the young people of Orcas Island.”
